Have you? Experienced the Marrakech magic of this fascinating , pulsating and busy city. Arriving in the old city, the Souk, the dusty streets, the little markets, bells, tastes, music and of course the Tuaregs http://Tuaregs, I was in awe. While walking around and taking it all in, everything was alive in this city. It’s no secret that Yves Saint Laurent spend much of his life in this vibrant city. I visited his museum, but we leave that story for another day!
So, with my almost empty suitcase and enough space left for beautiful crafts and fabrics, I set off. On our third day we met an authentic Tuareg. A lovely encounter with Jaafar while having peppermint tea in his little shop admiring his collection of handmade jewellery and fabrics.
The Tuaregs have settled down in the last few years and that’s why children go to universities around the world in pursuit of modern careers. Although they still learn the trade and craft from the parents, very few remain home to continue the ancient Tuareg tradition of being tradesmen.
A five meter piece of fabric is used for the “dress” and a two meter piece for the turban. Jaafar collects and trades in ancient jewellery and fabrics. He often takes small groups of people into the desert for meditation and quiet contemplation. He enjoys being present in daily life. Naturally he is also your cook and guide for your desert experience. If you have not yet experienced Marrakech magic, add this trip to your bucket list.
After we experienced the Marrakech magic, we created blouses in the soft and sensual fabrics. This was a reflection of the once-off experience I had in Marrakech. Because of globalism, the fascinating nomad lifestyle has vanished. Losing some of Marrakech’s magic, which is rather sad.
Even more so, do enjoy blue, it’s the colour of intelligence, peace and trust.

i would love to see the closthes in these tuareg colours
Hi Gisi,
we did four blouses, they are on the pictures. We do a maritime blue in linen for our new Limited Edition. It is stable and the colour stays. With the Moroccon Fabric, it’s a risk because the colours washes out over time. And we have to wash the garment separately, it takes more time away from our daily lives. But I’m positive that fabrics will produce better qualities in our future. We keep on trusting, keep on trying new developments based on sustainability.
Take care,

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
